Most of you probably know the answer, but here’s a few reasons why all your hard work is paying off. The benefits of exercising fall mostly into 2 categories: Your BODY and your MIND An improved state of mind:

Studies have shown that any aerobic activity can raise levels of important chemicals in the brain, such as endorphins, adrenaline, seratonin and dopamine. All of which make you feel well.

Exercise enhances relaxation and helps you to sleep better, improved sleep means improved performance the following day.

Regular workouts make you clever by triggering a rapid growth in the density of the blood vessels in the brain and improve blood flow (and therefore supply) to the brain tissue, say US researchers at the university of Wisconsin.

Weight bearing exercise (including resistance training, running, walking and aerobics) preserves your bone density. It’s an important way of keeping bones strong, beating fragile bone problems like osteoporosis. It also helps prevent arthritis, improves posture & reduces the risk of back pain.

Many statistics have shown that exercising regularly lowers the risk of heart attacks, strokes and also may prevent some cancers. Therefore blood pressure is lowered and so is the risk of obesity and diabetes.

Aerobic and weight bearing exercise helps to maintain a healthy body weight by burning calories and increasing muscle mass, which in turns boosts your metabolism. It tones and strengthens your muscle giving you a leaner, firmer, more defined shape. Circulation is increased, improving the appearance of your skin, and helping to rid cellulite.
